Art and the Internet Age: Mapping the Effect of the Digital World on Our Cultural Past and Present

February 9, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$10

Join the 92Y Art Center, in collaboration with art tech startup Meural, for a conversation exploring how the digital world is shaping contemporary visual culture and challenging our understanding of art, the artist, originality and ownership.

The panel, moderated by Meural’s Head of Curation, Poppy Simpson, brings together leading digital theorist Dr. Lev Manovich, New York Public Library CDO Tony Ageh and artist Eric Corriel, and is presented in conjunction with (un)Common: an exhibition presenting works that reconfigure, remix and reimagine items held in the public domain — or “the commons” on view in 92Y’s Weill Art Gallery through February 20th.

Please join us for a reception for (un)Common immediately following this talk in the Weill Art Gallery.
