Columbia Business School EMBA Virtual Class Visit: Capital Markets & Investments
July 24 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 amFREE
We are excited to invite you to virtually sit in on a class, Capital Markets & Investments. Due to limited capacity, we ask that you only sign up for one class to allow others a chance to register. We also ask that you please mute your video and microphone, and refrain from typing questions so as to not disrupt the class. You will receive a link to access the class a few hours prior to the session.
This Capital Markets course has three goals:
- To introduce the principles of asset valuation from an applied perspective. The majority of the class is concerned with the valuation of financial securities. The valuation issues to be discussed are heavily used in portfolio management and risk management applications.
- To introduce the following concepts: arbitrage, the term structure of interest rates, equilibrium pricing, diversification, the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), efficient and inefficient markets, performance evaluation, and derivative securities, particularly options.
- To provide sufficient background knowledge for students seeking an overview of capital markets and an introduction to advanced finance courses
