Panel: The Path to CTO

April 18, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Please note: this event is intended for women and non-binary software developers*

The Chief Technology Officer helps to craft an entire company’s technology strategy. She is an expert at balancing competing goals to create the best solutions.

But how do you level up to this position and what are the challenges you might face on the way, especially in an industry that’s struggling with fair representation?

In this meetup, we will host a panel of CTOs from companies in New York. They’ll talk about their experiences as women in tech, some challenges and wins, and how you might prepare to take on that role yourself!

Our panelists:
– Yvette Pasqua, CTO at Meetup
– Mary Ferguson, former VP Engineering at Etsy
– Camille Fournier, Managing Director at Two Sigma, former CTO Rent the – Runway
– Minerva Tantoco, CTO
– Julie Iskow, EVP/CTO at Medidata Solutions

Important note from the organizers:

We are going to close our RSVP list 24 hours before the event and IF YOU ARE NOT ON THE RSVP LIST YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN. Please RSVP early to avoid disappointment!

We will be checking IDs, but we will not be matching RSVP names to ID names. We welcome everyone to RSVP with the name you prefer.

If you have any issues getting in, please contact the organizers in the comments below or in the #chapter-nyc slack channel.

6:30-7: Mingle & eat
7-8:30: Panel!

* Write/Speak/Code is for non-binary people and women, cis and trans, and is emphatically trans and queer friendly.

We define “software developer” as anyone who has written a line of code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Java, whatever) and can explain what it does.
